The Car Insurance Industry of India (CII) has announced its list of car insurance plans for women in Delhi.
It will cover any car with a driver under 30, and any vehicle with a registered owner between the ages of 20 and 45.CII President Anurag Singh said that while the average insurance policy for women is Rs 8,000, this has increased to Rs 10,000 as of March 2018.
“We have also been working on providing an affordable insurance option to women for the first time.
This has also helped us in the recruitment of women into the industry,” he added.
The insurance companies will cover all types of vehicles including motorbikes, vans, buses, private cars, cabs, buses and taxis.
The cost of the premium for vehicles is Rs 4,000 for a new vehicle and Rs 5,000 in the case of a used car.CIVILIAN PILOTSCII has a team of over 2,000 employees in Delhi and around 50,000 vehicles are registered in Delhi with insurance companies.
“The insurance market is changing rapidly and it is imperative for us to keep pace with this change,” Mr Singh added.CIII and COVID-19Pillai said that women are now getting the benefits of the CII-backed Car Insurance, with the premium increased from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
CII and COV-19-Pill a company that offers car insurance in Mumbai said that the premium increase was due to the increase in the number of women drivers.
“For women drivers, it will increase from Rs 3 lakh to over Rs 5 crore in three years.
We are working towards the goal of double digit growth for the industry in the coming years,” Pillai said.
